With heavy hearts and fond memories, we announce the passing of Paul Joseph Jedro, who departed this world on December 31, 2024, at the age of 64.

Born on April 14, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan, Paul was the son of the late Frank and Genevieve (Libuszowski) Jedro and one of six siblings who grew up in the bustling streets of Southwest Detroit. Paul was the beloved brother of Janet Jedro, Michael (Deborah) Jedro, Frank (Kathryn) Jedro, Kathleen (Mike) Jedro, and Steven (Nancy) Jedro. To Paul, being a brother went beyond mere family ties, especially with his brother Michael, who was his best friend and a constant companion in countless unforgettable moments throughout his life.

Paul graduated from Holy Redeemer Catholic School, where his values of hard work, loyalty, and community first began to flourish. He carried these principles with him throughout his life, forming deep and enduring connections with his family, friends, and colleagues.

The role Paul cherished most was being a father to his daughter, Elizabeth Cardinal. Being a dad meant everything to him. Paul beamed with pride on the day Elizabeth and Nickolas were married, a moment that filled his heart with joy. When life seemed like it couldn't be fuller, he became a doting grandfather to his beautiful granddaughter, Elliana Cardinal.

Elizabeth was his pride and joy, his greatest achievement, and his dearest companion. Whether they were shooting hoops at the park, tossing a ball around, or braving the roller coasters at Cedar Point, Paul's happiest moments were spent by Elizabeth's side. Together, they shared a love for Detroit sports, attending the final game at Tiger Stadium and the last Pistons game at The Palace – milestones in the city's sports history that mirrored the milestones of their unbreakable bond. Through the ups and downs of Lions football, Tigers baseball, and Pistons basketball, Paul remained steadfast in his loyalty, a true symbol of his unwavering spirit.

Paul's professional life was as dedicated as his personal one. He devoted his entire career to Kentucky Fried Chicken, where he started from humble beginnings and rose to become an Area Coach. His family often joked that he had two great loves: Elizabeth and KFC. To Paul, his coworkers and employees weren't just colleagues; they were family. He thrived on mentoring others, celebrating successes, and working tirelessly to build successful teams and restaurants.

Paul is survived by his loving daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, his devoted siblings, his former wife Wendy, many beloved nieces and nephews, lifelong friends, and a vast extended family who will miss him deeply.

In the end, Paul leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter. He was a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and lived with passion. While his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him. Paul's memory reminds us to hold close what matters most and to always cheer for the home team.
