Peggy Joyce Nagy, born June 23, 1943, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, at the age of 82.
Peggy was the beloved wife of the late Alex G. Nagy, with whom she shared a beautiful life. Both proud graduates of Lincoln Park High School's Class of 1962, they were members of the school's second graduating class and celebrated the joy of walking across the stage together. Their bond remained a cornerstone of Peggy's life.
She was a devoted mother to her six children: Allen Nagy, Kenneth (Gregory Gerhartz) Nagy, Debra (Vernon) Warn, Tina Zimmer, Gary (Brandy) Nagy, and Wendy Nagy. Peggy found her greatest joy in being a grandmother to Allen Jr., Brian, Stephanie, Angel, Natasha, Ashley, Mariah, Tiffany, Gary Jr., Hannah, Haylee, Aidan, Teegan, James, and Alex, and a cherished great-grandmother to 17 wonderful great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and delight, and she especially loved babysitting her grandchildren—never seeing it as a burden but as a blessing.
Peggy will be remembered for her playful spirit and warm heart. She loved to tease people in fun, always bringing laughter into the room. Almond Joy candy bars were her favorite treat, while rice was one food she could happily do without. At her 80th birthday celebration, she proudly requested a full southern comfort food menu. Her last home-cooked meal—pinto beans, cornbread, and fried potatoes—was lovingly prepared by her daughter and shared with her at her care facility, a tender reminder that love and family are best expressed in life's simplest moments.
Peggy's legacy is one of love, laughter, and family devotion. She leaves behind a family strengthened by her care, her humor, and her boundless heart.
Visitation for Peggy will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Alex at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock immediately following the service.
