Ramona Joan Woods

Ramona Joan Woods, lovingly known as Joan, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on June 25, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, Joan was the cherished daughter of the late Clayton and Eulah Cunningham. She was a 1958 graduate of Wilbur Wright High School in Detroit.

Joan was the beloved mother of Buddy Woods (Nilda) and the late Deborah Vazquez. She was a devoted sister to Gary (Diana) and Gerald  (Charlotte) Cunningham. Known affectionately as "Nana," she was adored by her grandchildren: Anita Velez, Anthony Woods, Buddy Woods Jr., Brandon Woods, Lisette Woods, and the late Brian Woods and Cresencia Pelayo. Joan was further blessed with eight great-grandchildren who brought immense joy throughout her life.

Joan had a warm and vibrant spirit, finding happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Joan had a passion for going to the movies and dining out with friends and family, moments she always treasured. She also loved attending church, where her faith provided her strength and comfort.

A true bargain hunter, Joan took great joy in discovering a good deal, particularly at the dollar store. Her enthusiasm for life and her unwavering love for her family will remain her lasting legacy.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Joan's family and friends will gather to celebrate her beautiful life and honor the love and memories she leaves behind on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 12:00 PM until the Funeral Service which begins at 2:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home.

Interment at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock will immediately follow the Funeral Service.
