Robert Louis Sherman

Robert "Bob" Louis Sherman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024, at the age of 74. Bob was born on February 21, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Edward and Eileen (Lobb) Sherman.

He was the devoted husband of Joann Sherman, his best friend and lifelong partner. Bob and Joann shared an incredible bond, having been together for 55 years before Joann passed in January 2024. They settled in Lincoln Park, Michigan, raising their family in the home where Joann grew up.

Bob was a loving father to the late Robert Louis Sherman. His deep, abiding love for his family extended to his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He was the proud grandpa of Robert (Emily) Joseph Sherman and Jessica Reest, and the adored "Pepaw" of Luca Robert Sherman.

Bob was the cherished brother of Ronald (Ava) Sherman, Allen Sherman, Eddie (Leann) Sherman, Mark Sherman, and the late Judy Sherman. He was also a dear brother-in-law of Tom & Rose Vichunas and Cecelia Smith.

Throughout his life, Bob worked tirelessly to support his family, retiring from a long career in the steel industry as a dedicated steelworker. Known for his sense of humor, generosity, huge heart, loving nature, and caring spirit, Bob made a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Bob had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his late pets Spanky, Molly, Hunter, and Rusty. He loved tending to his yard, ensuring his grass was always perfectly manicured. Bob enjoyed relaxing with a beer, watching "Walker Texas Ranger," and spending quality time with his family, particularly his great-grandson. He cherished gatherings with family and friends and could often be found sitting outside on the driveway, enjoying the fresh air and shade from the tree in his yard. An avid hunter, Bob loved spending time up north, where he could connect with nature and enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors.

Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, hard work, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024  1:00 - 8:00 PM.

Visitation will also be on Thursday, July 25, 2024 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
