Roger E. Dallwig

DALLWIG, REV. ROGER E; Age 86; of Southgate, MI; February 18, 2025. Beloved husband of Cindy and father of David (Amber) Dallwig, Sharon (Martin) Hall, Jennifer (John) Ray, Jeremy (Jana) Nichilo and Joshua (Agatha) Nichilo; Devoted grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Roger is survived by his brother, Ken (Dianne) Dallwig, and many cherished colleagues and friends.

Over his 50-year career as an ordained Minister, Rev. Dallwig served as Pastor to 6 different churches in the Congregational and Presbyterian traditions, and 17 years as the owner and director of His & Her Place Counseling Center in Lincoln Park, MI. Throughout his Ministry, Rev. Dallwig participated in (and often led) numerous ecclesiastical and civic organizations fostering youth outreach, parenting support, food and clothing assistance to persons in need, and more. At various points, Rev. Dallwig served as the president of the Rockwood Rotary, on the Advisory Committee of the Southgate Youth Assistance Program, and as moderator of multiple religious associations, including the North-Central Presbytery of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Among his many professional accomplishments and gifts, his thoughtful and engaging Bible studies are richly remembered by all who participated in them.

By those who knew him best, Roger is remembered as a person of warmth and welcome, a man of wit and intellect, and a bit of a ham who loved to perform when given the chance! An avid reader and lover of music and theater (from the Eagles and Bob Seger to classical symphony and Gilbert and Sullivan), Roger's compassionate nature meant that his first priority was always tending to the need of others – a gift that was shared with countless individuals throughout his life. His heart and spirit will be deeply missed.

A private cremation has taken place in the care of Solosy Funeral Home.
