Rose Ella Todd

August 21, 1952 — November 11, 2025

Wyandotte

It is with profound love and heartfelt sorrow that the family of Rose Ella Todd announces her passing on November 11, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on August 21, 1952, in Delray/Detroit, Michigan, Rose was the beloved daughter of the late Charles Bragenzer and Golda Mae (Wilson) Bragenzer.

Rose grew up as one of seven siblings on a dairy farm, a childhood that shaped her hardworking spirit, strong will, and fierce loyalty to those she loved. At just fifteen years old, she met the love of her life, Mark Duane Todd—an encounter that would change her story forever. She married at eighteen and together they built a family rooted in devotion, resilience, and unwavering love. Rose and Mark shared 53 beautiful years of marriage, filled with laughter, challenges, and countless memories. They met while working at Pia’s, where Rose’s mother and sister also worked at the time.

A proud mother, Rose’s greatest joy was her family. She was the devoted mother of Jenifer Rutkowski (Shannon Lahde), David Todd (Janette), and the late Mark Todd (Lori). She was the cherished grandmother of Shawna Todd, Tyler Todd, Rilley Rutkowski, Chase Todd, and Ella Todd; and the loving great-grandmother of Caleb, Leia, and Jaxon.

Rose is survived by her sister, Patty Courteau. She was preceded in death by her siblings Joe Bragenzer, Ethel East, Dale Shellenberg, Ken Bragenzer, John Bragenzer, and Bonnie Bragenzer, as well as her son Mark. She will be deeply missed by her dear friends Margie and Jim Waldt.

A homemaker throughout her life, Rose poured her heart into creating a warm, loving home where her children always felt safe, supported, and deeply loved. She was a “true Momma Bear”—protective, dependable, and the pillar of her family. She was someone you could confide in, someone who told you the truth whether you were ready for it or not, and someone who would move mountains for her children.

Rose was known for her bold personality and her unforgettable presence. She was loud, spirited, opinionated, and she never pretended to be anything other than herself. She was famous for liking her cuss words, speaking her mind, and living life unapologetically. Her sense of humor, sharp wit, and unfiltered honesty made her a force wherever she went.

She enjoyed painting, gardening, trips to casinos—especially in Las Vegas—dancing, and spending time surrounded by the people she loved. Her faithful dog, Teddy, never left her side. She had a special fondness for river rocks, Indian dolls, and splurging on jewelry. No matter where she was, her family was always at the center of her heart.

Rose faced life’s challenges with courage, including her greatest battle—overcoming cancer in 2016. Her strength, determination, and resilience inspired everyone who knew her. Even in moments of fear—like her first snorkeling trip—she pushed through, overcame the challenge, and emerged stronger, just as she did throughout her life.

Private cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Solosy Funeral Home and a memorial gathering will be planned for a later date.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Those who were blessed to know her will carry her memory forever.
