With deep sadness, the family of Sharon Jane Shannon announces her passing on April 3, 2025, at the age of 80. A woman of quiet strength, endless love, and warm generosity, Sharon touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Born on November 22, 1944, to the late Alexander T. Johnson and Harriet P. (Wasko) Johnson, Sharon grew up in a lively and loving home. She was one of several siblings with whom she shared a lifetime of stories, laughter, and unwavering sibling bonds. She preceded in death by Pat, Nan, and Ronnie. She is survived by Phyllis and Terry.
Sharon's life was defined by her deep care for others. She was known for being super sweet and always happy—the kind of person who brought light and comfort wherever she went. Her giving nature and selflessness were constant hallmarks of her character, and she was happiest when she was giving to others, whether it was her time, her love, or simply a warm smile.
She shared many beautiful years with her beloved husband, Thomas C. Shannon, until his passing in 2018. Their love story was one of quiet devotion, built on mutual respect and shared joys. Together, they created a home full of love, family, and enduring memories.
Sharon was a devoted mother to her children, Donald (Desi) Zimostrad and Beverly Fore, and a proud grandmother to Keith Alexander Fore. She cherished her role as "Mom" and "Grandma" above all else, and her family was truly the center of her world. Her love was unwavering, her hugs the warmest, and her advice always gently given with wisdom born of experience.
She also held a quiet appreciation for life's daily routines, meaningful conversations, and the kind of little moments that make life rich. Her happiness was infectious, and those around her often found themselves smiling just a little more in her presence.
Sharon will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched with her kindness, her joyful laughter, and her unshakable love.
Visitation for Sharon will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Funeral Service beginning at 7:30 PM, both taking place at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember and celebrate a life so beautifully lived.
Though she has left this earthly life, Sharon's memory will remain a blessing to all who loved her.
