It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Stanley Guarnelo on Monday, October 2, 2023, at the age of 53 years.
Stanley was born on June 1, 1970, to the late Silvester and Cora Guarnelo in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Beloved brother of Lindia (Brian) and Mary (Ralph). Loving uncle of Hillary (Ryan), Sarah, Ralph III, Brett, and Travis. Lifelong friend of Kevin Watson. In addition to his family, he is survived by many friends who became like family to him throughout the years.
Stan was an imaginative soul and creativity infused all aspects of his life. He was an avid lover of live theatre. Over the decades, he both produced and directed numerous shows. He found a home at The Players Guild of Dearborn and was an active member for 20 years. The mission of The Players Guild of Dearborn is to promote the magic of live theatre, and this aligned perfectly with Stan's vision of the theatre. He also worked and shared his talents in video production as a videographer and editor at WDHT in Dearborn Heights for 15 years. His co-workers and friends remembered him as a kind-hearted and gentle soul.
The culmination of his creative spirit was manifest in the writing of a children's book in 2020 titled Arturo's Workshop. The story takes place in a magical repair shop inside a star where the kind old man named Arturo fixes broken hearts. Hearts come in many sizes and can break in many ways. When a frightened little heart arrives and hides beneath the workbench, Arturo tries everything to help the scared little heart to heal and grow.
Stan will be missed by all who knew him, and his family and friends hope the magic of Arturo's workshop can continue in their own hearts.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023, beginning at 1:00 PM at The Players Guild of Dearborn (21730 Madison, Dearborn, MI 48124).
