Texas M. Richardson

Texas M. Richardson, a proud Marine, devoted family man, and longtime automotive worker, passed away on August 1, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born on May 15, 1941, in Appalachia, Virginia, to the late Lucian Richardson and Omia (Owens) Richardson.

After graduating from high school, Tex answered the call to serve his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he began a career with General Motors, where he worked as a production line employee for more than 30 years before retiring in October of 1999. His strong work ethic, dependability, and dedication to providing for his family were evident throughout his life.

Tex shared more than 35 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, the late Freida Richardson. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and family.

He leaves behind his loving daughter, Stephanie (Daniel) Tomlinson; his grandson, Daniel J. (Sara) Tomlinson; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Aiden Tomlinson and Grace Tomlinson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will remember him with great affection.

A man with a playful spirit, Tex was known for his quick wit and his love of joking with those around him. He had a knack for poking lighthearted fun at family and friends, bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went. His sense of humor was one of his most memorable gifts and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Outside of work, Tex found his greatest enjoyment in the outdoors. Every fall, he eagerly looked forward to heading Up North in Michigan for deer hunting season, a tradition he treasured for many years. In his younger days, he also loved spending quiet hours fishing, appreciating the peace and beauty of nature. At home, he was especially fond of Loki, his beloved "grand-dog," a Boxer who always held a special place in his heart.

Tex will be remembered for his faithful service to his country, his years of hard work, his love for his family, and the laughter he shared so freely. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the joy he brought to those around him will live on for generations.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home. In recognition of Texas’s honorable service to his country as a United States Marine, Military Honors will be rendered at 7:30 PM.

Cremation will take place following the service and he will be laid to rest with his beloved Freida at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery.
