Thomas Patrick Decaminada

August 24, 1967 — February 9, 2024

Trenton

Thomas Patrick Decaminada, a devoted family man, and hard worker, passed away on February 9, 2024, at the age of 56. Born on August 24, 1967, in Trenton, Michigan, to Fredrick and Nancy Decaminada, he leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and selflessness.

Tom was a resident of Trenton, where he lived a life filled with purpose and passion. He was the beloved husband of Terri Lynn Decaminada, and together they created a family steeped in love and unity. As a loving father to Destiny and the late Dominque, Thomas embraced his role with unmatched dedication, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of his children.

Tom was not just a father but a cherished Papa to his grandson, Jax. He took joy in collecting die cast cars for Jax, creating lasting memories and sharing his enthusiasm for life with the next generation.

A hard worker by nature, he was a true craftsman. He could build anything and it would be beautiful. Tom and his daughters built things together throughout their lives. Almost every room in their house has been remodeled by him with the girls' help. He was a window installer/business owner since he was a teenager, and the girls would help install windows with him as they needed replacing around their house. He loved the time he spent with his girls and coveted their help whenever they were available. He also cherished the time he spent with his nephew, Ken, who was a son to him. Ken lived with Tom and Terri for many years, and they worked together on countless projects.

Tom was respected in the construction world and has mentored a lot of people throughout his career. He was the definition of a workaholic because he truly loved what he did and loved the people he worked with. His dedication to his work extended beyond providing for his family; he was always concerned about keeping the guys working, recognizing the importance of their need to support their families.

Passionate about his family, Tom was known for his generosity, kindness, and selflessness. His love for his country was unwavering, and he showed forth the values of patriotism and pride. Tom had the best sense of humor, bringing laughter and joy to those around him, even in challenging times.

While he rarely rode motorcycles, Tom had a deep admiration for them, particularly the iconic Harley-Davidson. He loved gazing in the shed at his motorcycle, appreciating the freedom and spirit they represented.

Tom leaves behind his siblings Lavin (Tom) Schwan, Fred (Wendy) Decaminada, and Greg (Kristina) Decaminada. He was also the brother-in-law of Lori Roush who was a tremendous help to Tom and Terri over the years. Occasionally, Tom would call Terri and Lori "sister wives". He thought it was hilarious…they weren't as amused. He was a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews who will always remember him fondly. He is preceded in death by his nephew, Joey Silcox.

Thomas Patrick Decaminada will be dearly missed but forever remembered for his hard work, passion for family, and the warmth of his generous and kind spirit. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories he created in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
