Valerie lived a life filled with love, warmth, and music. Growing up, she had a deep passion for singing and dancing, and she carried that joy with her throughout her life. A devoted fan of Motown, Valerie’s heart was always stirred by the soulful sounds of the music she loved—music that reflected her spirit, her energy, and her joy for life.
She was preceded in death in 2015 by her beloved husband, Pete, whom she cherished deeply and carried in her heart always.
Valerie is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Marettia Kaye Dillow (Randy); her cherished grandchildren, Corey Ryan and Valerie Cheyenne; and her adored great-grandchildren, Rayden and Aalayah, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She is also survived by her sisters, Julie (David) and Sara (Todd), and her niece, Cassandra Opiela.
Valerie had a lifelong love for animals and shared her life with many furry and feathered companions over the years, including dogs, cats, and birds. Her beloved cockatoo, Roy, her last living bird companion, has been placed in a new loving home—something that brought her peace and comfort.
Valerie will be remembered for her warmth, her love of music, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her memory will remain to all who loved her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Solosy Funeral Home for her cremation. The family is thoughtfully working on arranging a celebration of life and burial service, with details to be shared at a later time.
