Wayne Stephen Ashteneau

Wayne Stephen Ashteneau, 60, of Michigan, passed away on March 5, 2025. Born on November 17, 1964, in Westland, Michigan, he was the beloved son of Brenda Fields and the late Stephen Ashteneau.

Wayne was a man who radiated warmth, laughter, and love. His infectious laugh could fill a room, and his ability to make others smile was unmatched. He had a natural gift for lifting people's spirits, a trait that made him deeply cherished by family and friends alike.

A devoted husband, Wayne shared a lifetime of love and adventure with his late wife, Renee Mulka. Together, they explored the open road, riding their motorcycles and traveling to new places, creating memories that lasted a lifetime. Their love story was one of deep connection and shared passions, and Wayne carried her memory with him always.

Wayne was a proud and loving father to Brittney (Zack), Megan, Joseph (Mehlia), Jessica (Chris), and Eric (Alexa). He found immeasurable joy in his role as a grandfather to Tyler, Lily, Brooklynn, Baylee, Mason, Violet, Elliana, Julia, Iris, and Liam. His grandchildren were his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them, showering them with love, laughter, and endless stories.

Wayne had a special bond with animals and often referred to himself as "Dr. Dolittle." He took great pride in his ability to communicate with the squirrels and other neighborhood critters, always ensuring they were well-fed and entertained. His love for animals reflected his kind and compassionate nature.

He is survived by his siblings, Dave, Jimmy, and Leslie, and was preceded in death by his sister, Karen. Wayne's family and friends will forever remember his boundless love, his adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought into their lives.

Wayne's presence in this world was a gift, and though he is no longer with us, his laughter, love, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 beginning at 11:00 AM and ending with a Memorial Service at 2:30 PM at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park, Michigan.
