Lincoln Park

William Keith Andrae, age 70, of Lincoln Park, passed away on October 8, 2025. Born on April 27, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, Bill—known fondly by many as a man with a big smile and witty spirit—lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.

He was the beloved son of the late William Henry Andrae (2010) and Beulah Elizabeth "Betty" Oglesby Andrae (2017). Raised in Detroit, Bill attended St. Matthew Lutheran Schools and George Ford Middle School before attending Davis Aerospace Technical High School. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era from March 22, 1973, to April 22, 1975, aboard the U.S.S. America. His service reflected his deep sense of patriotism and love for his country.

Bill will be forever remembered as a devoted father to his daughter, Samantha Andrae, and a proud grandfather to Chloe Curtis and Aubrey MacMillan, with whom he especially loved camping and sharing in the annual Mackinac Bridge Walk on Labor Day. He is also survived by his sister Katherine (Ronald) Mowat, and nieces and nephews Brandon Maitre, Nicole (Nick) Bayko, and Elizabeth Maitre. His circle of care extended to dear friends, including William "Neighbor Billy" Esparza and Pierre Maitre, who brought companionship and joy into his later years.

Known for his long blonde ponytail, his passion for Detroit Lions football, and his tailgating group, Bill embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. He enjoyed boating, attending auto shows, riding motorcycles and bicycles, and collecting treasures that reflected his many interests. His patriotism, humor, and kindhearted nature left a lasting mark on everyone he met.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park, with a service at 7:00 PM, including Military Honors to recognize his service to the nation. Bill's cremated remains will be laid to rest with his parents at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan, a fitting tribute to his service and dedication to his country.

Bill will be remembered for his love of family, his laughter, and the joy he found in life's simple pleasures. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
