William Suarez; a cherished husband, loving father, and devoted grandfather; truly a great son, amazing husband and phenomenal grandfather passed away on Thursday April 4, 2024 at the age of 72. Dad was born on April 11, 1951 in Puerto Rico where he grew up before making his way to the United States.
Dad was the beloved husband of our also much beloved mother Evelyn, with whom he shared 57 years of love, dedication and companionship in marriage. Dad fell in love with Mom, when he saw her at a stop light on a summer afternoon, and little did he know that, that girl would become the love of his life, the mother of his children, his best friend and companion for life, and that would change his life forever. Together they raised a family, and Mom was truly the light of his eyes, the love of his life. His love and commitment for her never wavered or faltered; including caring for Mom, and taking care of her full time as her caregiver until his last day. He was also a dedicated father to Michelle, Sharon, and Alan; and his son in law Sunny whom he welcomed and considered his second son; and whom he appreciated very much and acknowledged that he was very privileged to have as family, and was constantly, and forever grateful to Sunny for everything he did, his constant, ever present and unconditional love, care and infinite support in all forms. Dad also took pride in being grandfather to Michelle's son; his grandson Joshua, and Alan's daughter; his granddaughter Alana.
Our Dad was a simple and humble man not impressed by money, or ranks or social status, he was however impressed by work ethics, and love of family which meant everything to him; and which he instilled in all of us. He also worked tirelessly to care for and protect his family. This commitment and dedication to his family arose from a very early age (10), when he wanted to help out his parents, and started helping them around in the family farm. William was a man of integrity, respect, kindness; and was passionate about justice, rights and fairness for all humanity regardless of ethnicity, education, religion or background. He approached life with patience, determination, courage, valor and kindness, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
William was not only a provider, but also a pillar of strength, courage and support, embodying the roles of son, husband and father with grace and devotion. Dad enjoyed and found solace in any body of water. He enjoyed fishing and found joy in casting a net into the water. He also liked boating. His love for nature and the tranquility it brought him reflected his peaceful, free and reflective spirit.
William Suarez will be deeply missed by his family, co-workers, neighbors and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace, may God forgive all his faults and receive him in his heavenly kingdom.
