Willie Ray Justice, born on August 17, 1954, in Pike County, Kentucky, to Virginia (Kendrick) and Floyd G. Justice, passed away on October 1, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a spirit that was free and wild.
Willie is survived by his children, Billy Justice, Joseph Justice (Mary), and Amanda Justice (Mike); his sister, Beverly Reno; and a large and loving extended family, including his grandchildren, Ashley, Hailee, Jordan, Cassidie, Kristin, and Jacob, as well as his great-grandchildren, Joshua, Miracle, Jaxton, Camdyn, and Liam. He is also lovingly remembered by Christina Justice, Matthew Justice, Timothy Justice Jr., Justin Justice, and Crystal Justice as well as many other friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Timothy and Phillip Justice.
Willie was raised in the Metropolitan Detroit area and attended Chadsey High School in Detroit. A proud member of the United Union of Roofers Local 149, Willie was also a devoted Marine, taking great pride in his service to his country. Known for his love of animals, he especially adored his beloved kitty cat, Rusty.
Willie's life was one of joy and adventure. He loved traveling, cruising, and spending time with friends and family at social gatherings. Whether it was shopping, listening to music, or enjoying his favorite pastimes—coffee, ice cream, and drinks with friends—Willie approached life with a zest that was contagious. He was often found at the ballpark, cheering on his grandson and the boys as they played baseball, a source of immense pride for him.
Above all, Willie adored his family and cherished his time with them. He loved taking walks and embracing the beauty of life, while his outspoken, adventurous spirit shone through in every interaction. His faith in the Lord was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in all that he did.
Willie Ray Justice will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Solosy Funeral Home in Lincoln Park. A Military Honors Service will begin at 7:00 PM
Visitation will take place on Monday, October 7, 2024, beginning at 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 AM.
Interment immediately following at Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit.
